In China, for example, you may have a problem with the use of electronic devices on board the plane in general, as Lukáš Čambala states in his article "They were using the phone during the flight, after landing they were in jail for several days" - original in Czech: “[//smartmania.cz/pouzivali-telefon-behem-letu-pristani-cekalo-nekolikadenni-vezeni/ Používali telefon během letu, po přistání je čekalo několikadenní vězení]” (17.2.2017). | |||

We have nothing against you taking your device and traveling abroad, but you should follow a few recommendations:
- 1) keep your device charged - according to some information, at security checks they may require you to turn on the electronic device to prove that it works
- 2) do not switch on the device in the airport premises - the red indicator diode can evoke the switched on camera and cause unnecessary problems
- 3) have a foreign language accompanying document printed for the device, ideally one in English and the other in the language spoken in the country - you can get these documents here on the page Safecast - cizojazyčný průvodní list k přístroji.
- 4) do not measure anywhere where it is not legal to enter, near protected objects (e.g. military facilities, etc.) - in these places you may have problems with taking photos, so it is better to avoid problems.
- 5) if you are measuring, do not try to hide the device - measuring is not illegal, trying to hide the device will make you look all the more suspicious and you may unnecessarily attract the attention of the police. On the other hand, it is not necessary to show off the device explicitly everywhere (it measures just as well through the textile wall of the backpack) so that no one steals it from you.
WARNING - in some countries, using the device may be against local laws. It could be countries with so-called authoritarian regimes. We recommend that you find out the situation in the country in advance and consider whether to take the device with you.
